Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 September 2026
The short version
- Alia is a tracker for your own records. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.
- The free tier is free permanently, and includes two caregivers on one log.
- New users get 14 days of Plus with no payment method. Nothing to cancel — it drops to Free on its own.
- Plus is $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year, sold by Apple, and it auto-renews until you turn it off in your Apple Account settings.
- We never delete what you logged to make you pay. On Free, older entries are hidden, not destroyed.
A summary, not the terms. The sections below are the actual agreement.
1. Who this agreement is with
These Terms of Use are between you and Ogden A.D. Ventures LLC, DBA Alia Childcare (“we,” “us”), of 13249 154th St, Jamaica, NY 11434. By downloading or using Alia, you agree to them.
They cover the Alia iPhone app and this website. Alia is distributed through the App Store, and Apple’s own terms apply to that distribution alongside these.
2. Alia is not medical advice
This is the most important section here, so it comes early.
Alia records what you log. It does not interpret it. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose anything, and nothing in the app is medical advice or a substitute for professional care.
The app shows patterns drawn from your own baby’s logged history — including sleep forecasts. Those are a description of what she has done before, not a prediction you should rely on and not a clinical assessment. Alia deliberately does not plot growth percentiles and does not tell you whether any number is normal, because interpreting that is your pediatrician’s job.
Anything that worries you belongs with your pediatrician. In an emergency, contact emergency services — do not rely on this app.
3. Using Alia
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use Alia on devices you own or control, for your own family’s purposes.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our source code
- Use the app or the API in a way that disrupts the service or degrades it for others
- Access anyone else’s log without their invitation
- Resell or redistribute the app or its content
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account.
4. Accounts and shared logs
An account is optional. Alia works fully without one; an account exists so you can share a log with another caregiver.
Sign-in is through Apple, so there is no password for you to manage or for us to lose. You are responsible for the security of the Apple account you sign in with.
When you invite someone with an invite code, they can see the full log for that baby and add to it. Invite codes are single-use and expire after seven days. The person who created the baby is the owner and can remove caregivers or delete the baby; everyone else can log and edit entries.
Think about who you invite. A caregiver sees everything on that log, including notes. Removing them revokes their access, but a copy may remain in the app on their own device.
5. Subscriptions and billing
What the tiers are
| Tier | Price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, permanently | Full logging of feeds, diapers and sleep. 2 caregivers. 1 child. The last 14 days of history. |
| Alia Plus | $6.99 / month $59.99 / year | Unlimited history. Progress charts — patterns, daily rhythms, typical ranges. 4 caregivers. 1 child. |
Prices are in US dollars and are the prices in the United States. Local prices and applicable taxes vary by country and are shown by the App Store before you purchase.
The 14-day trial
New users receive 14 days of Alia Plus at no cost.
This trial takes no payment method. There is nothing to cancel. It is not an auto-renewing subscription and no charge is ever associated with it. At the end of the 14 days, your account moves to the Free tier automatically, without any action from you and without being billed.
If you subscribe to Plus
Alia Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold and processed by Apple.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- It renews automatically — monthly or annually, matching the term you chose — unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the then-current price for your term.
- You manage and cancel it in your Apple Account settings, not in Alia. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It doesn’t end the period you’ve already paid for — Plus features stay available until that period ends.
- If a payment fails, Apple may retry for a short period. We keep your Plus access during that window rather than cutting you off over an expired card.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We’ll help where we can, but we can’t issue an App Store refund ourselves.
Price changes
If we change the price of a subscription, we’ll give you notice beforehand, and the change won’t take effect until your next renewal. Apple will ask you to confirm where their rules require it.
6. Your data on the free tier
This is a commitment, not a courtesy, so it is in the terms:
We will not delete entries you have logged because you are on the free tier or because a subscription lapsed. On Free, entries older than 14 days are hidden from view. They are not destroyed. If you subscribe later, they become visible again, intact and exactly as you logged them.
Everything you’ve logged stays yours either way. How long we retain data, and how deletion works when you ask for it, is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Ending your account
You can stop using Alia at any time. You can delete entries and delete a baby from within the app, and you can sign out on any device.
To delete your account entirely, open the app and go to Sharing → Delete account. It is permanent and takes effect immediately — your account and its records are erased from our systems rather than hidden.
If you share a log with another caregiver, deleting your account doesn’t delete theirs: ownership of that baby’s log passes to the longest-standing remaining caregiver. A log nobody else is on is deleted with your account. If you’d prefer we do it for you, write to hadi@ogdenventures.io.
Deleting your account does not by itself cancel an active subscription, because Apple — not us — holds the billing relationship. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings as described above.
We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or where we’re required to by law. Except where that isn’t possible, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to retrieve your data.
8. Service availability
Alia’s core logging works offline and on your device, so it keeps working when our servers don’t. Syncing between caregivers needs our service to be reachable, and we don’t promise it will always be.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something you rely on, or shut the service down, we’ll give reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
9. Our content, and yours
Your log is yours. You keep all rights to what you enter. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the service for you — to store your entries, sync them to caregivers you invited, and show them back to you. Nothing more. We don’t use your content to advertise, and we don’t use it to train anything.
The app is ours. Alia, its name, design, and any written guidance in it remain our property or our licensors’.
10. Warranties and liability
Alia is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for any decision made about a child’s health or care on the basis of what this app displays. It records what you enter; it does not assess anything.
11. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for Alia. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we’ll update the date at the top. Continuing to use Alia after that means you accept the updated terms. If you don’t, you can stop using the app and ask us to delete your account.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
